Surdone is a selective, contact and residual systemic herbicide that is absorbed mainly through roots but also through leaves, with acropetal upward translocation through xylem. The active substance metribuzin belongs to the triazinone chemical group and acts on weeds by inhibiting photosynthesis. In the case of pre-emergent application, the product acts at the root system of the weed.
Application recommendations
Surdone is applied pre-emergent for control of annual dicotyledonous and some monocotyledonous weeds in potato and soybean crops. Higher rates are used on soils with higher humus content. Surdone is a viable option for managing dicotyledonous weeds in soybean for sulfonylurea or imidazoline herbicide technologies. Do not mechanically weed earlier than 7 days after application so as not to destroy the herbicide film on the soil surface. The residual effect of the product is determined by local conditions at the time of treatment. Generally the crop remains clean for at least 6 weeks after application.
